Celebrated Swedish artists Nathalie Djurberg & Hans Berg bring their captivating work to the National Nordic Museum, presenting compelling narratives through immersive installations of sculpture, sound, and video clay animation.
The artists' work probes psychological states and the complexity of daily life by using anthropomorphic objects as metaphors. Visitors are invited to step inside an experiential gallery displaying the stop-motion films A Pancake Moon and Only for the Wicked, as well as the sculptures that are animated in each. Set in a fantastical forest, A Pancake Moon considers the transformational physical and emotional journey of motherhood, acted out by a cast of characters. Only for the Wicked relocates visitors to a cavernous underworld, where a narrative about the damaging effects of success, power, and overconsumption in today’s society is told.
