Learn the basics of Kolrosing (pronounced coal-rosing), a traditional method of decorating wood objects, in this 2-hour introductory workshop with local artist Kayla Ann.
Students will create a decorative plaque featuring their favorite vista or landscape while learning the history and techniques of this traditional Nordic handcraft. Various tools, elements of design, and alternative techniques will also be discussed during class.
Hand and wrist dexterity are required for this project. All materials included.
Bring a hard or digital copy of a favorite landscape to replicate.
